Barkindo recently took over the top job at OPEC and he said that he's been told Nigerian oil production has been rising after a meeting with the oil minister.
He also said the government is negotiating with the Niger Delta militancy and is confident that a stable and permanent solution will be found.
Nigeria is the world's big swing producer at the moment. As much as 2 million bpd of production may be idled because of violence. Production is near a 22-year low.
Libya is another country in a similar spot.
