Maybe we were swept away by the emotion of it all, but during Monday night's Love Island final,
we felt confident that love was truly in the air. But here we are, four
days later, and one of the finalist couples has already split.
To
be fair, if we were going to predict any of them to go first, it
would've been these two: Adam and Katie. The couple who only got
together (and even that's debatable) in the last week of the show.
But while Northern Irish
Adam and Scouse Katie were singing each others' praises, wanging on
about how they'd 'made each others' experience', it seems it wasn't
meant to be because Adam has tweeted that he is "100% single". Say it
like you mean it, Ads.
In
case you were wondering whether it was an amicable split, with the pair
simply deciding they weren't right for each other, his next tweet shuts
that theory down. Using one of his classic metaphors, Adam hinted that
things might actually have turned pretty sour between the recent couple.
Presumably
comparing Katie to a kebab, the World Wrestling Entertainment wannabe
wrote: "It's like when you're eating a kebab after a night out & the
first few bites taste good but then u realise that it really isn't nice
at all!" Ouch, that's gotta hurt.
Speaking to OK!, Adam reportedly explained what happened at last night's wrap party to make everything go so wrong.
"Basically
[I] had a bit of an argument with Katie cause she said I didn't stick
up for her when she was arguing with Tom and Sophie about the Sophie
situation on camera last night," he said. So we can look forward to that gossip from Sunday night's Heading Home follow-up programme.
And Adam wasn't the only one taking to Twitter with a metaphor to indicate the end of the couple's fling; Katie had a go, too.
"It's
like getting socks at Christmas. Practical but no fun," she wrote,
later adding: "sometimes they have a hole in". Lololol.
At
least the feeling's mutual, then. And if rumour has it, apparently
Katie and fellow contestant Troy have actually been getting a bit
flirty. So we'll just have to wait and see what unfolds there...
