Former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, was released Friday evening from detention.
He had been in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Omisore was arrested by EFCC operatives on July 3, 2016 for allegedly receiving about N1.3 billion from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
He was subsequently charged to court and granted bail.
Omisore has confirmed his release.
“Thanks for your support and prayers. I also thank my supporters for their steadfastness. I’m back at home in Abuja,” he told Tribune.
