Kano Pillars' Jamiu Alimi has vowed to do the Nigerian Professional Football League proud in the All-Stars squad's upcoming tour of Spain.

Alimi cracked the nod for coach Salisu Yusuf's 23-man squad that is poised to do battle with Primera Division sides Valencia and Malaga next week.

The defender's inclusion signals another memorable accolade, having featured for Nigeria at the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda.

"I am thinking about nothing except putting up a good performance in Spain," he told Competesportsnigeria.com.

"I hope to make the NPFL proud as I am very pleased to be going.

"With the way we are training and the team's chemistry in camp I'm confident that we will get good results from the games lined up for us in Spain."
